What are Hi-Flow Turnouts?

Hi-Flow Turnouts are simple irrigation structures designed to control the flow of water into surface irrigation systems.

Hi-Flow Turnouts allow the use of large streams of irrigation water, up to 30 cubic feet per second (CFS).

By combining Hi-Flow Turnouts with Laser Land Leveling, the management and efficiency of an irrigation system can be greatly increased.

How is the Irrigation Efficiency Increased?

By using larger irrigation streams, the Hi-Flow Turnouts allow the irrigation water to move over the field at a much faster rate, thereby increasing uniformity and decreasing the total time of irrigation.

Increased uniformity means uniform distribution of irrigation water and any waterborne fertilizers and amendments.

Increased irrigation uniformity means increased yields and uniform crop quality!

By increasing irrigation uniformity, the agricultural producer can reduce the amount of fertilizer and chemicals that pass below the root zone of the crop, thus helping to protect both underground and surface water aquifers.

Larger Turnout Sizes Reduce Inlet Clogging

Because of the larger inlet size of Hi-Flow Turnouts, clogging of the irrigation outlet by waterborne trash is eliminated.

When combined with a well engineered surface delivery system, the number of needed irrigation outlets on a farm can usually be reduced to one Hi-Flow Turnout for every 10 - 15 acres.

The larger irrigation streams available with Hi-Flow Turnouts allow the irrigator to apply the correct amount of needed water at the correct irrigation interval.
